Job Description
Position for enthusiastic registered veterinary technicians with a passion for emergency and critical care. Successful candidates
will provide clinical assistance to professional staff and a variety of treatments to patients admitted to the Boren Veterinary Medical Hospital (BVMH). Candidates will have the opportunity to actively participate in one-on-one training of veterinary students, as well as work alongside veterinary specialists to provide clients and patients with the highest standard of care. Applicants must have an Associate in Veterinary Technology (or equivalent) and be licensed or eligible for license to practice veterinary medicine in Oklahoma.
This is a full-time positions with varying shifts and hours. Shift differentials are available for non-traditional shifts. Every full-time

The BVMH is a 145,000 square foot, full-service veterinary teaching hospital providing 24 hour care for all domestic and selected
exotic and wildlife species. The BVMH admits more than 15,500 clinical cases per year, and hospitalizes 5-8 ICU cases per day. Our
Critical Care Unit is a state-of-the-art facility and is staffed with capable, competent technicians. Our hospital is equipped with digital radiography, MRI, CT, ultrasound, endoscopy, 24-hour access to full clinical pathology lab, oxygen cages, pulse oximetry,
capnography, I-Stat point-of-care testing, telemetry, blood pressure and central venous pressure monitoring, Pleur-Evac® suction units, and ventilator therapy. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to interact with 20 small animal specialists, as well as a supportive group of interns and residents. Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s in Veterinary Technology
Applicants must have an Associates degree in Veterinary Technology (or equivalent) and a Registered Veterinary Technician in the State of Oklahoma; or have an Associates degree in Veterinary Technology (or equivalent) and be eligible for the Oklahoma State Board of Examiner’s technician certifying exam, obtaining licensure within 120 days of hire.
Experience in restraint of small animals, administering injections, and placement of IV (peripheral, central, and urinary) catheters
is essential. Must have knowledge of equipment used within VTH including, but not limited to: personal computer, telephone, copy machine, diagnostic lab equipment, electrodiagnostic equipment, and ECG, etc.
Must be physically capable of lifting animals weighing 50 pounds or greater onto exam tables and into elevated cages.
Preferred Qualifications:
Five years experience as a Veterinary Technician Specialist recognized by NAVTA or credentials in a specialty that VTH defines as meriting recognition.
Ability to perform assigned tasks independently with minimal supervision.
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS).
