Job Description
Routine Tissue Culture.
Animal Studies
Experimentation.
Laboratory maintenance and support.
Protein/ Nucleic acid Chemistry.
Human and animal viruses will be examined and exposure could lead to disease. Low levels of radioactive agents are occasionally used. However, if good lab practice procedures are used there are no real dangers. Occasional lifting of light boxes and equipment are necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Virology, Cell Biology & Molecular Biology
Seven years relevant laboratory research. Demonstrate skills important to research.
Virology and cell cultures experience. Experience and expertise in molecular procedures including PCR, cloning, virus preparation, Western blot analysis. Assist supervisor with laboratory management, day to day operations, and assist with ongoing projects. Perform and assist supervisor in animal handling for in vivo studies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Virology, Cell Biology & Molecular Biology
Five years relevant laboratory research experience. Demonstrate skills important to research.
