Serves as a member of the department’s financial office to support a variety of accounting activities. Summary of duties include: departmental P-Card accountant; responsible for OK Corral payable/ordering system; maintains, analyzes, reconciles departmental accounts as assigned; provides accounting statement or reports as indicated. Must be able to work cooperatively as a team member yet be able to work independently on assigned projects. The successful candidate must have knowledge of accounting principles, excellent communication skills and the ability to interact well with Animal Science faculty and staff; DASNR administrative offices; and other University offices related to position responsibilities.

Required: High School/GED with 5 years experience in accounting/bookkeeping  

Must be proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word and the ability to learn the OSU financial system & QuickBooks.

Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with clear, grammatically correct English and prepare complex reports on deadline.

Requires interaction with supervisors, colleagues, students, alumni, advisory committee members and the public, using diplomacy, discretion, and independent judgment.  

Preferred: Prior experience with the OSU Financial System preferred; work history shows progressively responsible financial positions.
